ICC History
The Indiana Coal Council, Inc., (ICC) was formed in December 1980, as a trade association for coal producers, coal reserve holders, and other business entities associated with Indianas coal industry. The ICCs initial office was in what was once the Harrison Hotel across from the State House at the corner of Capital and Market Streets.
The first officers of the ICC were Chariman- John Stachura, Sr.; Vice Chairman- Wayne Parke; Secretary- Robert Green; and Treasurer- Felson Bowman. Jim Maguire served as the first Presdient of the ICC. One of the first Associate Member companies was MacAllister Machinery which is still very active today.
In 1986, J. Nathan (Nat) Noland was named President. In the late 1990s the ICC moved across the street from its initial office location to the ISTA Building. Bruce Stevens became President in 2014 with Nat Noland serving as General Counsel.
The ICC membership today is comprised of nearly the entirety of Indiana's coal producing companies, large reserve holding entities, and approximately 100 Associate Member companies.
